Shame on CBS and TBS for not making the final four and the finals available on prime time channel and people who do not have the expensive cable package are left out. Shame for being so greedy with college athletics which should be available to everyone in US without a premium cost. This is a disgrace to patriotism of US rites of passage in sports. Why should I have to go to all that trouble and try to figure out some tricky way to scam access.
I believe the N in NCAA stands for National meaning of the nation of the US and the games should be freely available to the general public as a public service obligation much like the way the Olympic Games are televised. It appears the telecasters are clueless as to the games viewing audience.
I am a female, senior citizen and many of my generation are watching these games because we, or family members or friends may have attended one of the colleges in this tournament.
I agree completely. The advertisers are certainly missing the boat. It certainly was fun having all those stations, but I realized during those first months that I was mostly watching the same channels that I had been getting via antenna. And in many cases better. Is it a coincidence the NFL is the 1 sport in America? They moved one playoff game a year to cable and even that is now simulcast on ESPN.
They get it. The final four and the finals should be on CBS channel 2 which is avail to everyone. These kids are playing with their hearts and would be refreshing for the media to show the true honor of real team spirit. Maybe more people would watch if they actually had a choice to and knew when the games were played.
Figures the ncaa made some moneymaking deal by not airing the final four and national championship on free tv. They should really move up the late night games. Games starting at pm on the East Coast on Saturday and especially pm on Sunday is unreasonable. Too many night games, too few afternoon games. Even them out. Move the TBS window to the afternoon to even it out. I actually like having a few late night windows. Do you live in the West Coast?
Sure if you can guarantee two West Coast teams playing in a California venue, have a late night slot. Maybe Saturday night have late night slots but not Sunday. I remember in the old CBS only days the entire tournament ended in 3 windows. They should be ashamed.
Why not eradicate all CBS network broadcasts entirely? CBS does, and with good reason. By exposing the tournament to as many households as possible, they can reap the rewards of their expensive tournament property. This is ridiculous that the NCAA is forcing people to have to have a pay service to see the final four and championship games! They should be broadcast on network television so all can see!!
